1-4 to start out huh…ehh, well if you think about it, Philly would’ve had it minus a rookies premature celebration and the Falcons would’ve done better, but who knew Brain Griese could still play QB? Here are my thoughts on these weekends’ games:
1) Dallas at Green Bay
How bout them Cowboys? They meet the Packers in prime time on Monday night for what could be a playoff preview. I’m guessing that its still fall in Green Bay which means it wont be snowing for at least a few more..umm…days…lol. I don’t think Arron Rodgers can pull this one out. The Cowboys balance wears down the pack at the end.
My Pick- Dallas 28-17
2) Pittsburgh at Philly
This may be one of the more interesting inter-conference matchups of the season as the Eagles battle the Steelers for the Pennsylvania state championship. Philly gave Dallas all they could handle on the road last week and McNabb has returned to MVP like form this season. The Steelers on the other hand looked less than impressive in their win over the Browns (sigh). I think the Eagles handle the Steelers in this one.
My Pick- Philly 24-14
3) Jacksonville at Indy
The Colts look to build on a positive second half in which they came from behind to win last week over the Vikings. Jacksonville has a pretty good defense and if they can get to Peyton then they could win this, but I don’t think they’ll get them in Indy. I think the Colts don’t want to disappoint fans 2 home games in a row.
My Pick- Colts 21-14
4) New Orleans at Denver
Jay Cutler looks to be finally living up to his potential and the Broncos are 2-0 so far this season thanks to a blatantly blown call and a two point conversion last week. Drew Brees and the Saints look to rebound from last weeks loss to the ‘Skins. I don’t think they Saints D can handle Denver’s vertical passing attack.
My Pick- Broncos 27-14
5) Cleveland at Baltimore
The Browns are off to a very disappointing 0-2 start so far with really no signs of improvement yet this season. They held the Steelers to 10 points but their “explosive” offense only managed to score 6. The Ravens are still in a bit of disarray under the leadership of overhyped QB Joe Flacco. The only bad news for the Browns is that the Ravens still have their same defense…and they’re all healthy. Taking all that into account, I still look for the Browns to turn things around and head in the right direction this weekend.
My pick- Browns 17-10
